Parent-Teacher Conference Sign-ups! – Your child should be receiving a sign-up sheet for our upcoming Parent-Teacher Conferences starting on Thursday, March 13th, 2025. Please mark your available dates and times so we can slot everyone in. Thank you and we looking forward to meeting with you one last time before middle school!

Eastlake Middle School Course Selection – If your child is scheduled to attend Eastlake Middle School next year (students living in the 91914 or 91915 zip code), your student had an orientation with the ELM administration team on, Friday, February 21st, 2025. Students were able to meet their new counselors and learn about campus life for next year.

The next step each student needs to take is to start completing the online process of selecting their initial courses and pre-registering for school. Official registration information will come later from Eastlake Middle School. For now, please:

  1. To verify which middle school your child should attend, use Sweetwater Union’s school locator: https://betalocator.decisioninsite.com/?StudyID=193578.

  2. Upload immunization records and over-the counter medication form to Eastlake Middle’s nurse: Click Here

  3. Complete pre-registration form: Click Here

  4. Complete affidavit form: Click Here

  5. Upload completed affidavit form and proof of residency (Utility bill, lease agreement, or pay stub dated within the last 60 days): Click Here

  6. Complete the 7th Grade Course Selection Google Form. All incoming 7th-grade students must submit this form to select elective classes and indicate any specialized programs such as DLI, an IEP, or 504 Plan: CLICK HERE

  7. Register for Campus Portal: Click Here

  8. Optional: Complete the Compacted (Accelerated) Integrated Math 7 Google Form. Only complete if your student wants to enroll in the Compacted (Accelerated) Math Program: Click Here

  9. Optional: ASB Application, for students who want to enroll in ASB, please contact ASB Advisor, Derrick Almero at Derrick.Almero@sweetwaterschools.org for application deadline. See interest form: ELM ASB Interest Form

  10. Attend ELM for two parent nights: Future Triton Parent Night: February 26, 2025, 6pm, Eastlake Middle School Multipurpose Room

Rancho Del Rey Course Selection – We hope your child enjoyed meeting their future middle school counselors today, Thursday, January, 30, 2025! Students were able to meet some of the staff and watched a wonderful presentation about life in middle school. You can view the entire presentation here: Incoming 7th Grade Orientation. If your child is scheduled to attend RDR, they should’ve received a handout from RDR to start the process of transitioning to middle school.

Here are the few steps needed as of now to prepare your student for RDR:

  1. To verify which middle school your child should attend, use Sweetwater Union’s school locator: https://betalocator.decisioninsite.com/?StudyID=193578. (If your child is scheduled to attend Eastlake Middle School, we will have a separate orientation on February 21st.)

  2. Visit Rancho Del Rey’s Counseling Office Website: https://rdmcounseling.weebly.com/7th-grade-course-selection.html. There, you may view a condensed version of the orientation and do a virtual tour of the school. The site also includes information about the electives your student may choose from and important dates for registration.

  3. Complete the pre-registration forms: https://sites.google.com/sweetwaterschools.net/rdmregistration

Class of 2025 Cotillion Donations – As you know, our sixth grade cotillion is quickly approaching and our parent groups are working extremely hard to put on an unforgettable evening for our students. The Decorations Team is asking for donations to help transform our school to a Red Carpet Gala for our students. If you can, we would greatly appreciate the support of all our families. Thank you!!!

Yearbooks – Yearbooks are currently on sale. Once the window to purchase yearbooks closes, there will be NO other opportunities to purchase them!!! All sales are online. We will not have any yearbooks to sell onsite at the end of the year. Please order your yearbooks now!

The 2024-2025 Yearbooks go on sale January 13th for $40 until February 28th. The price will increase to $50 after February 28th. All sales end on March 21st and must be placed online only.

Nightly Homework – Please make sure your child is getting daily practice by ensuring they do their homework nightly, Monday through Friday. Students will utilize a daily planner to keep track of daily practice. Please initial nightly and sign at the end of the week. Every night, your child should be:

  • Reading for at least 30 minutes

  • Completing approximately 20 minutes of math practice on either Teams or iReady

  • Playing iReady for 15 minutes, Monday through Thursday

Accelerated Reader – We are on week 7 of our 10-week quarter. That means your child should have 70% of their AR goal. We expect all students in sixth grade to read for one hour each day, Monday through Friday. Students read for 30 minutes in class daily and should also be reading for 30 minutes for homework.
