Eastlake Middle School Course Selection – If your child is scheduled to attend Eastlake Middle School next year (students living in the 91914 or 91915 zip code), your student had an orientation with the ELM administration team on, Friday, February 21st, 2025. Students were able to meet their new counselors and learn about campus life for next year.

Rancho Del Rey Course Selection – We hope your child enjoyed meeting their future middle school counselors today, Thursday, January, 30, 2025! Students were able to meet some of the staff and watched a wonderful presentation about life in middle school. You can view the entire presentation here: Incoming 7th Grade Orientation. If your child is scheduled to attend RDR, they should’ve received a handout from RDR to start the process of transitioning to middle school.


Here are the few steps needed as of now to prepare your student for RDR:

- Visit Rancho Del Rey’s Counseling Office Website: https://rdmcounseling.weebly.com/7th-grade-course-selection.html. There, you may view a condensed version of the orientation and do a virtual tour of the school. The site also includes information about the electives your student may choose from and important dates for registration.

Class of 2025 Cotillion Donations – As you know, our sixth grade cotillion is quickly approaching and our parent groups are working extremely hard to put on an unforgettable evening for our students. Yearbooks – Yearbooks are currently on sale. Once the window to purchase yearbooks closes, there will be NO other opportunities to purchase them!!! All sales are online. We will not have any yearbooks to sell onsite at the end of the year. Please order your yearbooks now!
The 2024-2025 Yearbooks go on sale January 13th for $40 until February 28th. The price will increase to $50 after February 28th. All sales end on March 21st and must be placed online only.

Nightly Homework – Please make sure your child is getting daily practice by ensuring they do their homework nightly, Monday through Friday. Students will utilize a daily planner to keep track of daily practice. Please initial nightly and sign at the end of the week. Every night, your child should be:
- Reading for at least 30 minutes
- Completing approximately 20 minutes of math practice on either Teams or iReady
- Playing iReady for 15 minutes, Monday through Thursday
Accelerated Reader – We are on week 7 of our 10-week quarter. That means your child should have 70% of their AR goal. We expect all students in sixth grade to read for one hour each day, Monday through Friday. Students read for 30 minutes in class daily and should also be reading for 30 minutes for homework.
